I admit my sin: I haven’t read much in the past few years, what with starting University and having some health issues. BUT this year I’ve rediscovered my love for reading and I’m looking for a way to push myself! As such and because I seem to have not read all the series everyone is raving about, I thought I’d pick up the #ASeriesAMonth2018 challenge by Dani. This is slightly ambitious as I know for sure I won’t be reading much during the months when I have exams (or those leading up to them), but hey, it’s important to set goals for yourself, isn’t it?

The Rules

taken from Dani’s original post detailing the challenge

The aim of A Series A Month is to read a series of two or more books each month. Each month’s series can be completed or ongoing as long as at least two books are out. Most importantly, the series should be new to you, meaning you have yet to read the first book. (There’s already another reading challenge for completing series.)

The #TBR

Series I own books from and plan to read:

  • A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas: so much hype but will it live up to it??The_ACOTAR_series
  • Shades of Magic by Victoria Schwab: I was so excited about this series that I took a plunge and bought the collector’s edition of “A Darker Shade of Magic”. I’m very excited to read it!ShadesMagic-US-740x370
  • Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer: I bought Wires and Nerve first – then I heard I’d spoil the Lunar Chronicles for myself if I read that first (is this true?) so I bought Cinder.Lunar Chronicles Collage - Final
  • Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer: I’m keeping this for those  busy busy months when I will be dying on the inside and outside (i.e. exams).Wires and Nerve
  • Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas: I bought this a while ago and started it but in the meantime I’ve heard mixed reviews. I’m looking forward to finding out for myself what the series is like! (I’m slightly scared and confused at how many books are in this series)Throne-Of-Glass-Series-660x344

Next are series I’ve heard good things about but I haven’t picked up or 100% decided to read them yet:

  • Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon SandersonSanderson-MistbornTrilogyUK4
  • Shadow and Bone Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo: I will most likely pick this up because it’s Leigh Bardugo ♥ Plus I really need to see for myself what’s up with this Darkling everyone seems to love.Untitled-2
  • Monsters of Verity Duology by Victoria SchwabThis-Savage-Song-Victoria-Schwab
  • Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Laini Taylorpicmonkey-collage
  • The Raven Cycle by Maggie StiefvaterThe-Raven-Cycle-Series

Besides the first set (that I’ve already bought), which series do you think I should pick up? Do you recommend any of the ones I’ve mentioned? Do you recommend other titles? Let me know in the comments!

*Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the pictures.
