Welcome to Ire’s Den!

You! Yes, you! The lovely soul that pressed on my link (probably by accident). Welcome to my blog!

I am your host, resident of the den, Irina. Depending on where you’re from, you can or cannot pronounce this properly. Hence, you may also call me Ire. Like the noun defined as intense anger or wrath.

Now, you may think, does that mean I’m a person prone to wrath? Do I have fits of rage? Uncontrollable anger issues? Is it clinical? No. But I can be quite easy to irritate. And I do go on rants occasionally. I’ve been told it can be amusing.

This mainly translates to honest, uncensored reviews accompanied by appropriate bursts of emotion. (What the emotion is depends on the book)

Usually either it'ssobeautiful or angrykid

So what’s all this about?

This blog is a place for me to write out my thoughts and opinions in a more structured way. I want to be able to look back at what I thought of a book after a few years as I will most likely have forgotten everything by then. This is also a good creative outlet, and hobbies keep a student sane.

How often?

I’d like to start by posting every 2 weeks and then once I start getting into a routine, once a week.

What will I blog about?

Mainly YA and fantasy books but I am open to all genres (gotta read those classics on my shelves at some point). I will also post about make-up and skincare, since it’s another big topic I enjoy talking about.

I started reading fiction when my middle school teacher gave us compulsory summer reading. I thought sitting down to read was terribly boring and I could do so many other things. But when I started reading “Ender’s Game”, I read all 8 books across about 2 weeks. Then I realised books can take you to a different place the way no other media can.

This is a picture of my cat with the next two books I plan on reviewing:

  • Even The Darkest Stars, by Heather Fawcett
  • The Language of Thorns, by Leigh BardugoIMG_0022.JPG

What about you? Did you always love reading or did you grow into it?

  1. I loved reading this post! I look forward to reading more of your posts ❤️ I think I always loved reading. I just can’t stop reading ever since I learned how to read when I was little! 🙂
